Just thought I would put these shots up that I have created for a flyer. I was asked to produce some images for a conference based on the theme “Doors of Opportunity”. The door in the shot actually inspired the speaker to come up with the theme. One of my all time fave models, Alliee, helped me out to create the images. I, also, did the graphic design for the flyer but as this is a photography blog I’ll leave that out : )
I love being able to interpret people’s vision and it is so awesome when, as a creative, I get the freedom to work through and create the end result. At first I had a hard time visualising the shots and the ideas were sparce…at first I started with the design but it wasn’t until the conversation with the creative director (the speaker) until things started to gel together. After trying a few ideas, with no satisfaction, we went for a drive to this location. Once there I was able to easily visualise what was needed. I even said to her on the phone, “if that was the door that inspired you, perhaps we should use that!”.
Well, all said and done, I think we created what was needed and the shots have come out great. Never be scared to throw ideas around in your head, put them on paper, or tell other people. They might not fly but at least your creative process has been started. Within the process you will be able to work through any problems and issues you might have. It is only through that process that the final execution will take place. Yes, the final completion is important but unless you start, then apply process, you cannot achieve a final result. This, of course, applies in all fields of creativity.
The next few weeks have a lot of cool opportunities coming up. Get hooked up on twitter or facebook and you will find out the details as soon as I know them!
Be remarkable, with your work, your friends and whatever you are passionate about!!

Had a great shoot with Steph on Saturday night. It was very brief as we were running out of time. We were privileged to have a Make Up Artist on set (Katie Russell) and I had an assistant (thank you my special VAL, Lisa!). To be honest, I was helping a friend by demonstrating some of the awesome benefits of using TTL flash. If you don’t know what that means – ignore my geek talk.
Hope you enjoy the shots.

I had a wonderful shoot with Gwen last week. She is really an awesome model, beautiful and fun to be around. Look her up on Model Mayhem if you need a shoot! She hasn’t been modelling long but is really passionate and willing to try anything. She is open for ideas and will keep going as long as it takes. I really appreciate people who work hard and work within a team. I would have liked to have had a make up artist on set but the one we arranged cancelled last minute, however, this didn’t put us off!
I hope you like the images we were able to create. There are more on my portfolio page : )

nothing to do with me – just thought I’d share : )

Had a great shoot yesterday with Bex. You will recognise her from The Glitter Kitten shots that I have taken in the past. She has asked me to shoot some dance images for her portfolio. I’ll put those images up soon, here and on my Facebook page. I do enjoy doing dance photos.
These images have been inspired by Nadav Kandar’s sports images on his site. Have loved his images for a long time. I’ve shot this style before with alliee (check back a few posts), however, I wanted to push the style a bit further with Bex.

Really allow yourself to be inspired. If you spend anytime looking around your life, your relationships, books, tv, magazines and the huge resource that is the internet you cannot help but become overwhelmed by the surrounding creativity. There is so much going on out there I can become so easily frustrated at where I am in my world. That frustration is mostly unhealthy but sometimes, if you allow it, it can become a source of inspiration.
Allow everything around you to inspire you. Don’t allow anything to stop where you are going…especially yourself!

Had a lovely shoot last Monday with Harriet Law. She is an actress by trade and I had the pleasure of doing quite a simple shoot with her. After several attempts of organising a studio shoot we decided to have the shoot at her home in Stockport.
Thanks to Harriet in helping provide some nice images…enjoy!

My Louise.
Just a portrait I have done this evening, really really beginning to enjoy retouching and stylising my photographs. In particular I am loving the style and creativity that I am evolving.
Hope you enjoy : )
