Consistency

I have been attempting to write a blog every other day but it is proving harder than I thought. Its not that I am overwhelmed but I am beginning to realize the commitment needed to achieve excellent results all the time. In order to maintain high standards you need to do exactly that, maintain high standards. You can’t afford to slip. Yeah, you will make mistakes, speak to someone wrong (in my case that often is the case), you might miss judge the traffic so you are late, or you might just get it all plain wrong.

Slipping standards is not a one off thing. It is something that happens over time. Some of this mess that we are presently in with the global economy didn’t just happen over night. It took years of covering up, making bad mistakes, assuming the prosperity would never end, etc. Your high standards in your work, your relationships, your marriage, and in your creative endeavors must not be taken lightly if you ever want to see the success that leads to significance.

I have consistently taken pictures. In fact, I have worked out that have taken well in excess of 6000 pictures so far this year. Some of you may have taken more but that to me is a lot. That works out to be an average of 30+ per day. Taking that many pictures is bound to produce results. My standards can keep increasing. I have noticed the change in my confidence, my ability and my skills. You may not like the results of my creativity but you can’t deny my ability to keep going and to keep pushing myself to achieve more.

My standards have been maintained by consistency. Where is your consistency? Is in watching tv? Do you watch a lot? What kind of programs do you watch? Is that kind of attention taking over the attention you should be placing on growing your business or your relationships? Is your marriage suffering because all you do is sit on separate couches watching hours of tv? I am not here to criticize or meddle accept to say that if you want to improve your life you need to raise your standards.

First step is to aim high. What do you want to achieve? Set yourself a goal. My goal is to be excellent. How do I become excellent? Practice makes perfect…

Second step is to set the standard from day one. Third? Maintain those standards. Constantly evaluate your levels. How did you talk to people today? Did you push yourself to be better? Did you come across clearly to those around you? Were you as confident as you wanted to be?

I love my job. I love what I can put into it. I want to be a success in my field, and I want to influence others. You can do the same in whatever arena you push yourself in. I will try now to aim for a higher level of blog posts! Smile, encourage others and enjoy whatever you are doing!

Field of Dreams.

The world truly is a wonderful place and I love the size of it. Large enough to escape, small enough to truly stay in touch.

Waiting Long?

bus stop Have you been waiting for something special in your life? Have you pulled up a chair cause you are tired of standing? Have you waited too long? Are things not working but you still insist on staying put? I want to inspire you to stop waiting. Whatever it is probably isn’t coming or you missed it. That sounds harsh but really, is it? Is it time? Time to move on, time to look to the future. It is time to make something happen. Waiting is good if you are on time, if the schedule is set, if you can see the bus coming! However, pulling up a chair and accepting your fate is too much like accepting defeat in the face of opposition. “We will never surrender” was the quote of the Second World War. Let it become your mantra as you stand up to search out your dreams. Never give up, never stand still and never ever plod yourself on the couch of life!! Get up and walk, catch a cab, phone a friend…fight through the obstacles… forest Let life become what you dreamed of as a child! Look out and see the possibilities!! Capture something fresh inside and reach for it! Grow a new dream on the inside of you and let it flourish! It’s a new day…time to make it all it can be! field
