Challenged…

bex99

Be creative. Be creative in everything. Be thoughtful about your creativity. Produce creative work consistently. Love the process. Allow the process to work. Research. Push forward. Develop your ideas. Think about where you are going. Enjoy it.

I, of course, am talking to myself. Feeling a bit lost in all the fast movingness of my work. Take photos. Process them. Photoshop them. Upload them. Get feedback…start again. Creativity can so easily become standardised in our day to day to productivity. I can use the same process, create identical looking work using copy and paste as my lifestyle choice. My images can and will look the same.

How do I break free?

Challenge myself! Keep challenging myself!! Hopefully you will see the results…p.s. you break free exactly the same way : )

Glitter Kittens…rock!

A long and fun day yesterday. Was shooting some images for a book that I am putting together. Took well in excess of a thousand shots, left the house at 8.15am and didn’t get home before 10pm! Thank you so much Lisa Hawes!! She was my assistant for the day and a real trooper. Being a voice activated lightstand took some effort!! I didn’t even get to buy her dinner like planned…oh well, we shall be doing it all again next week!

These images were not taken as part of the project but something specially for a band called Vains of Jenna. They are swapping advertising privileges – the glitter kittens wearing their tee and vice versa. It was probably the most fun and excitement I had all day!

Enjoy the shots…

A bit of personal work and play. I had Lucy come down to the studio just to get creating some shots. I have been going through a phase of contacting people I have never met before to give me some inspiration and challenge. It is funny to see the differences in people when they get in front of the camera. I like pushing myself to meet people and to somehow create images of them that are wonderful and creative in their eyes and minds.

I am not saying it works every time, though I think Lucy has provided me with some lovely images. What I love about people photography, whether it be fashion, portraiture or just for fun, is the range of people you can meet. Within this range of people are the people who love the camera, or to the other extreme people who hate the spotlight. Thankfully, Lucy enjoyed the spotlight and the shots reflected that.

I want to thank Lucy for putting up with my musings for the shoot. Hope you enjoy here images.
