Sue: Wild Swimmer / by andy schofield

Open water swimming or wild swimming is getting more and more popular is the Uk with many people taking to the lake, lidos and rivers.

For this project I am asking why. Why do it? Why swim in cold temperatures, rain or sun? What is the attraction?

As I set out to shoot I contacted some Open Water swimmers vie Facebook and Sue was my first swimmer. She began outdoor swimming 5 years ago after her mum passed away. As a result of this she decided to do the Great North Swim to give something back to Marie Curie and quickly became hooked. This addiction has led to her swim the great swims in Manchester and Loch Lomond. This year she is swimming the English Channel as a part of a team of 6.

If you would like to support Sue as she completes he latest challenge she is raising money for Kind.  Her just giving page is here...
